Biography
Born in France from an American mother and a French father, Laura-May grew up bilingual and in an artistic and multicultural environment, spending her summers in Washington DC and the rest of the year in Paris. Enrolled in the bilingual program of the French Lycée International outside of Paris, she obtained an OIB, while participating in every extra-curricular on offer, from drama to music, community service to MUN, and more.
After studying in a French music and performance school, she moved to London in 2004 to study art and performance at Queen Mary University of London, combining her interest in science and research with artistic practice. Culminating in projects on climate change, anthropological research on body modifications, and a final art performance centered around studies on sleep disorders. She moved to Madrid, Spain to pursue her career in art and journalism, before enrolling at the Paris Observatory (OBSPM), to study astronomy and astrophysics, and graduating in 2016. She then moved to Los Angeles, California where she has translated her early passion for multiple fields into a multidisciplinary career in science, music, and the arts. She speaks English, French and Spanish and has some knowledge of German, plays guitar, bass and saz and has been practicing Japanese jiu-jitsu for sixteen years. In her free time, she enjoys chasing tornadoes, northern lights and eclipses.
